Call for Submissions: Playwrights Circle Staged Reading Festival

The Playwrights Circle will present the 3rd Annual Staged Reading

Festival for all playwrights who are current members of the Albuquerque

Theatre Guild. The Festival will be held at The Adobe Theater, Friday, May

17, 7:30 pm; Saturday, May 18, 7:30 pm, and Sunday, May 19, 2:00 pm,

2019.

Blind judging: A panel of judges will read the plays without knowing the

names of the authors. Each play submitted will receive a short critique from

the judges.

Playwrights will be notified of their selection by March 20, 2019. Each play

read at the Festival will be followed by a Q&A. Playwrights must be in

attendance at the Festival.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:

Deadline for submissions: Plays must be submitted beginning December

1, 2018, and received no later than January 31, 2019.

Length of play: 10 pages to full-length plays

Number of characters: Maximum of 8 characters

Number of submissions per playwright: Maximum of 2 plays (no more

than one play from each playwright will be presented at the Festival)

Format: All plays must be in a standard playscript format (sample

attached).

Title page: Title page to include only the title of the play.

Email: Include title of play, author, and contact information.

Word or PDF formats will be accepted.

No previously published or produced plays can be considered (including

public staged readings).

Submissions must be made electronically. Each play must be sent in a

separate email and sent to: playwrightscirclereadingfest@gmail.com.

ATG/TLC: Tour of the National Hispanic Cultural Center's Performing Arts Bldg.

In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month we invite ATG/TLC members to an in depth tour of the Roy E. Disney Performing Arts Center at the National Hispanic Cultural Center.

Free to ATG/TLC members. Guests $10.00



If you would like to visit the NHCC Art Museum before or after the Performing Arts tour, admission is free for NM Resident Seniors (60+) on Wednesdays.

Presentation to the NM Legislative Education Study Committee

New Mexico High School Musical Theatre Awards

We're making a presentation to the New Mexico Legislative Education Study Committee on "How Theatre Programs Apply Lessons from Every Discipline 
and Why That’s Important" on September 27 at 3pm. We'd love to see a lot of students, parents, and teachers there to support the case we're making. The committee is meeting at Hawthorne Elementary School that day, 420 General Somervell NE in Albuquerque. Come on down!

ATG's Actors Circle

ATG's Actors Circle will hold its first monthly meeting on January 13, 10 a.m.–noon, in the Community Room of Erna Ferguson Library (3700 San Mateo Blvd. NE, 888-8100, at the corner of Palo Duro).

Feel free to bring any monologues you may be working on (note: They should not be longer than 2 minutes). We'll also have short scenes available for cold readings.
