Tellabration is promoted by the National Storytelling Network and produced locally by Storytellers of New Mexico (STNM). Events take place simultaneously in communities across America and the world, the weekend before Thanksgiving. A local traditional now in it’s third decade, this year’s Albuquerque Tellabration brings together accomplished tellers with distinct voices and stories that touch on the theme Blessings and Blessings in Disguise.  

Loren Niemi has spent more than 25 years as a storyteller, creating, collecting, performing and teaching stories to audiences of all ages. Loren is one of the founders of the Northlands Storytelling Network, and served four years as the Chair of the Board of Directors of the National Storytelling Network. He is the author of The Book of Plots and co-author, with Elizabeth Ellis, of Inviting the Wolf In: Thinking About Difficult Stories.

Regina Ress has performed and taught around the world from grade schools to senior centers, prisons to Carnegie Hall, and is the recipient of two Oracle awards from the National Storytelling Network. Her CD, New York & Me, won a 2014 Storytelling World Award. She hosts a long-running storytelling series at the historic Provincetown Playhouse in New YOrk City, where she’s also told in Central Park's Hans Christian Andersen Storytelling Series for the last 25 year in a row. 

Nash Jones presents Contemporary Personal Narrative popularized through story slams and storytelling podcasts (á la “The Moth”). He has performed on the stages of Oakland Story Slam, Bona Fide Storytelling, and Bawdy Storytelling in the San Francisco Bay Area. Since returning home to Albuquerque, Nash has performed on the Liars’ Game stage and in The East Mountain Story Slam.
